Sub: Enquiry in respect of alleged irregularities in the recruitment to the Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant in West Bengal Circle.


Respercted Madam,


An examination was held on the 20th December,2009 to the cadre of postal assistant/sorting assistant against the vacancies for the year 2006,2007 and 2008 and 207 candidates were selected for these posts.The West Bengal Circle authority received a number of complaints directly and through Postal Directorate alleged the irregularities in the recruitment process conducted in the month of December,2009,among the complaints it was also mentioned that a big money was paid to the Senior Officers in the form of bride to facilitate selection of such candidates.Majority of the complaints received in the month of January and February,2010.But the then circle authority did not take care of it. CHQ we also informed the Dte in the month of March 2010.After then the Dte took initiative and advise.The West Bengal Circle authority constitute a committee with three Regional Postmaster General's of West Bengal Circle in the month of July 2010.
The commitee started thequeries in all respects considering the all aspects of examination and other ancillary.On the other hand the Head of the Circle (Chief Postmaster General) wrote a letter addressed to Supdt. of Police,CBI,Nizam Palace,Kolkata-700020 in the month of July 2010 [NO. Vig/Z-2/2010(L),July 12,2010] intimating the facts in details and request the CBI for necessary enquiry to find out out the criminal nexus.
After completion of the enquiry, the report was submitted to the Directorate and in the month October 2010, the Dte issued an order, the examination which was held in the month of December 2009 treated as cancelled and a fresh examination will be held at the earliesa with in 31.12.2010 and only those candidates who were called for Aptitude/Computer/Typing test for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant in the month of December 2009 examination be aalowed to re-appear [NO.-A-34020/43/2010-DE (12/10/2010)].In between this time the Head of the Circle (Chief Postmaster General) of West Bengal Circle again wrote a D.O. letter to the Joint Director (by name),CBI,Nizam Palace,Kolkata-700020 [
D.O.NO. VIG/Z-2/2010(L),24TH SEPT.2010] seeking an investigation in the malafide affairs of recruiment for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant held in the month of December 2009.
CBI took some initiative. 2/3 persons were booked by CBI.But no further improvement came in the light.Though CPMG personally took some initiative but failed to achived.
So we earnestly request u to take up the case with the CBI Central Head Qr New Delhi for proper enquiry and find out the culprit.
