CABINET APPROVES RELEASE OF AN ADDITIONAL INSTALMENT OF DEARNESS ALLOWANCE TO CENTRAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES AND DEARNESS RELIEF TO PENSIONERS, DUE FROM 01.01.2022

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval to release an additional instalment of Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners w.e.f. 01.01.2022 representing an increase of 3% over the existing rate of 31% of the Basic Pay/Pension, to compensate for price rise.

This increase is in accordance with the accepted formula, which is based on the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.

The combined impact on the exchequer on account of both Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief would be Rs.9,544.50 crore per annum. This will benefit about 47.68 lakh Central Government employees and 68.62 lakh pensioners.

MASSIVE AND UNPRECEDENTED STRIKE IN POSTAL DEPARTMENT TODAY. ENSURE MORE RESPONSE TOMORROW

 Today impact of Strike in Postal Department is massive and unprecedented. This is mainly due to our leadership at grass root level as well as Circle level, who worked hard and undertook continuous, intense and effective strike campaign throughout the country during last three months. As per reports organisationally received from different circles more than 80 – 85 percent of our employees took part in today’s strike. This is mainly because of our unity in form of Postal JCA comprising NFPE/FNPO.

     We express our sincere thanks to the above leadership. We also express our sincere thanks to our employees irrespective of unions. We are sincerely thankful to leadership of FNPO for their effective and cooperative attitude at every time. Employees have proved that they are always in favour of unity to save our department also to build up struggle against Govt. policies.

     We believe tomorrow also we will be able to ensure same or better response in Strike. Some photographs of today’s strike are published below:
